Microneedling & Mesotherapy Treatment Timeline

Consultation

We offer a complimentary consultation where you will have a face to face assessment with your doctor or nurse. Each consultation will explain how it works and what you can expect from treatment. We will then review your past medical history to ensure you are suitable and safe for the treatment.

Treatment day

Our experienced practitioners will answer any questions you have, and only when you are comfortable and ready, will your treatment start. Your practitioner will cleanse your skin to remove any oils and makeup, If deeper levels are treated, a topical anaesthetic cream can be used, so discomfort, if any, is minimal.

Aftercare and recovery

Redness (mild to moderate) can be seen for up to 24-48 hours. Skin peeling and dryness can rarely occur for up to 7 days (in 90% of clients, redness reduces within 1-2 hours). SPF 30+ must be applied post-treatment.

Any heat treatments, including steam rooms, saunas, jacuzzis, and the gym must be avoided for 24-48 hours.

Top-ups and future treatments

The best results are seen with a series of 4-6 sessions spaced 2 to 6 weeks apart depending upon skin concern.

There is a continuous and progressive improvement over time in skin texture, firmness and elasticity. The complexion becomes more even and brighter. If combined with medical-grade skincare like Obagi and ZO Skin Health, results can be enhanced.

A microneedling and mesotherapy facial combines two advanced skin rejuvenation techniques to enhance skin health and appearance. Microneedling involves using tiny needles to create micro-injuries on the skin, stimulating natural collagen and elastin production, which helps reduce scars and wrinkles. Mesotherapy complements this by infusing vitamins, enzymes, and other revitalising substances directly into the skin, promoting hydration and elasticity. This dual treatment effectively rejuvenates the skin, improving texture, firmness, and overall skin tone, making it a popular choice for those seeking comprehensive facial rejuvenation.

What are the Benefits of Microneedling & Mesotherapy?

Enhanced Collagen Production

Microneedling stimulates the skin’s natural healing process, promoting collagen and elastin production. This improves skin elasticity and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Reduction in Scars and Hyperpigmentation

The procedure is effective in reducing the visibility of acne scars and hyperpigmentation by encouraging the turnover of skin cells.

Customisable Treatments

Mesotherapy solutions can be tailored to address specific skin issues like dryness, laxity, and dullness by infusing the skin with vitamins, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid.

Improved Skin Texture

Regular treatments can smooth out rough textures, making the skin softer and more uniform.

Deeper Product Penetration

The micro-channels created by microneedling allow topical treatments and mesotherapy to penetrate deeper into the skin, increasing their effectiveness.

Minimal Downtime

Unlike more invasive procedures, microneedling and mesotherapy come with minimal downtime, allowing patients to return to their daily activities quickly.

Microneedling creates controlled micro punctures into the skin’s surface. This stimulates the body’s healing process to rejuvenate and repair the skin. To complement and enhance the effects of Microneedling, we offer a mesotherapy cocktail to infuse into the skin after the treatment.

Pioneered by the French Physician Dr Pistor in 1952, mesotherapy is a non-surgical, relatively painless procedure that is used to treat a wide range of conditions, delivering a cocktail of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, directly into the skin.

Once the small puncture sites are created in the skin by the Microneedling device, the mesotherapy cocktail (containing antioxidants) can then enter and penetrate the skin more effectively to tackle pigmentation, help hydration and promote firming and tightening. Over time, uneven skin tone, such as age spots, melasma and sun damage will become lighter, boosting your confidence in your skin.

Microneedling & Mesotherapy faqs

Every 2-4 weeks depending on skin concerns. Speak with you practitoner to devise the best treatment plan for your expected results.

The frequency of Microneedling treatments vary. When aiming for skin rejuvenation, you may repeat the treatment every 2 to 4 weeks for 2-4 sessions. When targeting more complex skin concerns such as acne scarring, or deep lines/wrinkles treatments may be repeated every 4 weeks for 4+ sessions.

The effects of microneedling can last for several months depending on individual skin conditions and lifestyle factors. Optimal results typically require a series of treatments, and maintenance sessions (every 6-12 months) may be needed to sustain the benefits such as improved skin texture and firmness.

Yes, microneedling can tighten skin by stimulating collagen production. As the skin heals from the micro-injuries caused by the needles, it becomes firmer and more elastic, reducing sagging and improving overall skin texture. This effect can help achieve a more youthful appearance over time.

Healing from microneedling typically takes about 24 to 48 hours for initial redness and sensitivity to subside. However, the skin continues to improve as collagen production increases, with more noticeable results appearing within a few weeks.

Yes, microneedling can effectively reduce the appearance of scars by promoting collagen production. The process involves creating micro-injuries that stimulate the skin’s natural healing process, leading to the formation of new skin tissue and smoother skin texture over time. This makes it beneficial for treating acne scars and other types of scarring.

Microneedling can help manage rosacea by promoting collagen production, which strengthens the skin and may reduce redness and inflammation. However, it should be approached with caution as overly aggressive treatments can make rosacea symptoms worse. It’s important to consult with your practitioner to tailor the procedure to your specific skin needs.

Microneedling is generally not recommended during pregnancy due to the lack of research on its safety for pregnant women. It’s important to avoid any procedures that might introduce risks or stress to the body during this time.
