Sculptra Injection Treatment Timeline

Consultation

We offer a complimentary consultation where you will have a face to face assessment with your doctor or nurse. Each consultation will explain how it works and what you can expect from treatment. We will then review your past medical history to ensure you are suitable and safe for the treatment.

Treatment day

Our experienced practitioners will answer any questions you have, and only when you are comfortable and ready, will your treatment start. The treatment area will be cleansed, and you will have numbing cream applied for 15 minutes. This makes the treatment very comfortable. Your injector will then mark the areas that need to be targeted which will include crepey areas around the cheek, loose skin around the jawline and sunken areas often seen in the mid-face area.

Aftercare and recovery

Once the product has been widely dispersed beneath the skin your practitioner will then firmly massage your face for around 5 minutes to ensure the treatment starts to mesh with your own skin and soft tissue. This starts the inflammatory process that causes collagen production and tightening.

Your skin will feel plumped up and will be slightly warm to the touch and may look red. The plump look will soon settle once the product which is fluid clears from the skin and goes deeper within. The redness and heat will clear within a couple of hours.

Top-ups and future treatments

Results are gradual and you may only see a minimal change after the first treatment, however, we recommend 2/3 treatments 4 weeks apart. Note the plumpness seen after the treatment will return a few months later, once your own collagen is stimulated.

Sculptra is an injectable treatment designed to stimulate collagen production, providing gradual and natural-looking skin rejuvenation. It contains poly-L-lactic acid, which helps restore facial volume, reduce wrinkles, and improve skin texture. For the face, Sculptra can address hollowness, folds, and contour irregularities. For a butt lift, Sculptra enhances volume and shape by promoting collagen growth, offering a non-surgical alternative to traditional buttock augmentation. This versatile treatment provides long-lasting results, typically visible over several months and lasting up to two years.

What are the Benefits of Sculptra Injections?

Stimulates Collagen Production

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid, which stimulates the body’s natural collagen production, leading to long-lasting improvements in skin texture and volume.

Long-Lasting Effects

Results from Sculptra can last up to two years or more, making it a cost-effective option for long-term aesthetic improvements.

Minimal Downtime

The non-surgical nature of Sculptra injections means minimal downtime, allowing patients to return to their daily activities quickly.

Natural-Looking Results

The gradual collagen growth results in natural-looking enhancements, avoiding the overfilled appearance sometimes associated with other fillers.

Versatile Applications

Sculptra can be used to treat facial wrinkles, hollowness, and contour irregularities, as well as for non-surgical butt lifts, enhancing volume and shape.

Improves Skin Quality

By boosting collagen production, Sculptra not only adds volume but also improves overall skin quality, firmness, and elasticity.

Sculptra contains Poly-L-Lactic acid which is found naturally occurring in our body in muscles. The Poly-L-Lactic acid once injected gently restores the skin’s structure and barrier by stimulating collagen and elastin production. When the product is injected it creates a gentle inflammatory process which then starts a healing cascade with the production of collagen in the skin.

Having a Sculptra treatment naturally restores your skin’s own collagen production giving you a more youthful-looking complexion renewing the skin, restoring volume, and smoothing wrinkles. The results are natural and gradual developing over a few months- no one needs to guess you’ve had a treatment but everyone will comment on how well you look!

Sculptra faqs

Sculptra is one of the longest-lasting aesthetic treatments available in the industry, with visible improved results seen at 25 months after your last session. This stimulating treatment will encourage your skin to produce its own collagen. Therefore, although the actual product injected breaks down, you will be left with your own boosted collagen which will have long-lasting results increasing elasticity and smoothness of the skin as well as tightening saggy areas and improving volume.

Results from Sculptra injections typically begin to appear within a few weeks, with significant improvements visible after about three months as collagen production increases. The full effects continue to develop gradually and can last up to two years or more.

Sculptra is made of Poly-L-Lactic acid which is found naturally in the muscles of your body. It is a clear fluid made up of water that has a thin consistency. When injected into the skin it is a potent collagen stimulator. It will gradually encourage your skin to produce its own collagen creating a smoother, tighter, more healthy skin barrier. The final results can take 3-4 months offering a gradual improvement. Sculptra is perfect for the more ageing skin and those wanting natural and subtle results for 25 months or more.

Dermal filler is made up of hyaluronic acid which is the main component found in human collage. It is a thick gel solution and when injected into depressed and grooved areas in the face it will instantly lift the area, as it mimics your body’s own collagen. It will not stimulate your skin to produce new collagen. As results are instant it is often the preferred choice for younger patients, however, treatments only last for up to 18 months.

Sculptra for hip dips involves injecting poly-L-lactic acid to stimulate collagen production and gradually add volume to the hip area. This non-surgical treatment enhances the curves and smooths out indentations, creating a fuller and more contoured appearance. Results develop over several months and can last up to two years.

Choosing between Sculptra and Morpheus8 depends on individual goals. Sculptra stimulates collagen production for gradual, long-lasting volume enhancement and contouring, ideal for filling hip dips and facial volume loss. Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency to tighten skin, reduce wrinkles, and improve texture. The best option varies based on desired outcomes and specific skin concerns.

Yes, Sculptra can make a significant difference by gradually stimulating collagen production to restore volume, improve skin texture, and enhance contours. It provides natural-looking, long-lasting results, effectively addressing wrinkles, facial hollowness, and body contouring needs such as hip dips and butt lifts.

Massaging Sculptra after treatment is crucial to evenly distribute the injected material and prevent nodule formation. It ensures a smooth, natural-looking result by aiding the absorption and integration of the poly-L-lactic acid into the surrounding tissues. Typically, patients are advised to massage the treated area five times a day for five minutes, for five days.

Sculptra has been approved for aesthetic use in the European market since 1999. Treatments have occurred in 40 countries worldwide. The new and improved reconstituted formula has minimised any adverse event like lumps or nodules and there has had extensive clinical trials by Galderma, the leading pharmaceutical company that manufactures Sculptra.  The product is based on a biodegradable acid that is found natural y occurring in the body. This acid called Poly-L-Lactic acid has also been used for decades in dissolvable stitches and medical implants with no adverse effects recorded to date. The extensive clinical trials that have been carried out with Sculptra has given it a proven safety profile with patient satisfaction for up to  25 months.
