CryoPen Treatment Timeline
Consultation
We offer a complimentary consultation where you will have a face to face assessment with your doctor or nurse. Each consultation will explain how it works and what you can expect from treatment. We will then review your past medical history to ensure you are suitable and safe for the treatment.
Treatment day
Our experienced practitioners will answer any questions you have, and only when you are comfortable and ready, will your treatment start. The treatment area will be cleansed, and the areas treated with Cryopen.
Aftercare and recovery
There may be redness or tingling directly following treatment. The treated areas may blister or get darker, and then scab over, to clear within 10-14 days. Makeup can used the following day to cover up. You can return to your normal activities immediately.
Future treatments
Full healing will occur over 4-6 weeks. We welcome you back to the clinic for consecutive treatments, should this be required. Deeper lesions may require several treatments.

What is CryoPen?
CryoPen is a quick and effective treatment to remove skin lesions, tags and age spots. Commonly referred to as ‘cryosurgery’, cryosurgery is the controlled destruction of unwanted tissue by the precise application of extreme cold. The process is called cryo-necrosis (tissue destruction by freezing) and will break down the cell membrane and ultimately disrupt the local blood supply. CryoPen is completely non invasive with no cuts, bleeding or stitches.

How does CryoPen work?
CryoPen treatments work by applying extreme cold to skin lesions using a pen-like device that delivers a precise, controlled blast of nitrous oxide. This rapid freezing causes the water within the cells of the targeted lesion to form ice crystals, disrupting cell structure and leading to cell death. The treated area then naturally sloughs off over time, allowing new, healthy skin to replace it. The procedure is quick, non-invasive, and typically requires minimal recovery time. It effectively removes warts, skin tags, age spots, and other benign skin lesions with minimal discomfort and a low risk of scarring.
