- What is it?
Sunekos Performa was launched this Autumn for patients who want tighter healthier looking skin round the eyes. It is an injectable product with a cocktail of 6 amino acids and hyaluronic acid which hydrates and nourished the skin. The combination of amino acids and hyaluronic acid is the first of its kind in any aesthetic treatment.
It is a safe alternative to dermal filler under the eye. If you look in the mirror and see fine lines, dark circles, and loose skin; then Sunekos Performa is perfect for you. A true test- pinch your skin under the eye and hold it for a few seconds, then let go, if the skin takes more than 3 seconds to return to its normal shape then you have reduced collagen, elasticity (snap-back) and this treatment will offer great results.
- How does it work?
The clear liquid is thin like water but contains powerful ingredients to stimulate the extra cellular matrix of the skin. The extra cellular matrix is the part of the skin that nourishes the cells and stimulates the fibroblasts to produce collagen. Collagen gives resistance and structural support to skin tissue, which creates healthy skin with good snap-back quality. With ageing there is a disruption and a break-down of the extra cellular matrix and therefore collagen production. As a result, we lose 1% of collagen in our skin a year which leaves fine lines, sagging and dullness around the eyes. Sunekos Performa manipulates the extra cellular matrix to improve the ration of collagen and elastin, which will result in you looking and feel fresher around the eyes.
- Who is the treatment suitable for?
Those with sagging skin, fine lines, or dark circle of pigmentation under the eye will see significant improvement after 3 treatments.
Often patients come to the clinic wanting a dermal filler treatment for under the eyes or anti-wrinkle treatments to correct the lines. However, not all patients are suitable for these treatments and adverse effects can result like worsening eye bags. We are pleased to now offer a safe and effective alternative.
Very few other skin treatments improve skin quality, hydration and pigmentation under the all in one treatment and Sunekos performa is far superior to any eye creams or injectables available when treating loose, crepey skin.
- What is the EyeBRIGHT Treatment plan?
You will need 3 treatments, 2 weeks apart, over 6 weeks. To maintain healthy collagen and smooth skin we then recommended one treatment repeated every 6 months.
- How does this treatment compare to other skin treatments?
Sunekos Performa is a targeted eye treatment with minimal to no-down time and is totally safe. Injections are very small and can be placed below the lid margin, above the eye lid, and even on the forehead above the brow to lift and tighten skin.
– Dermal filler involves placing a gel solution directly under the eye using a cannula (a bendy tube). It’s good for those with deep sunken eye sockets but best for those under 40.
– Anti-wrinkle will stop fine dynamic lines developing on smiling but cannot tackle loose skin or permanent static lines.
– Profhilo is a skin booster that hydrates the whole face but is not a targeted eye treatment as only one injection goes near the eye.
- What happens during the procedure?
On arrival to the clinic, you will be assessed to ensure you are suitable for the treatment. You will then be numbed in the area with a cream. After 20 minutes the cream will be removed. Once consented and questions answered the product will be injected around the eye area which will cause little to no pain. Very small needles are used (the same as those for anti-wrinkle injections). This process will take 10 minutes. The eye area will then be massaged, and you can return to your day. If there are small little bumps in the area they will last around 24 hours but can be carefully covered up. A small bruise can occur, but this should clear in a few days. 3 sessions are required for the best results.
- Can you combine with other treatments?
Sunekos Performa can be combined with other treatment and carried out in the same appointment for convenience. When combining with anti-wrinkle treatments, we recommended having your anti wrinkle treatment first, then 2 weeks later having EyeBRIGHT for exceptional results.
