Anti-wrinkle injection treatment timeline

Consultation

We offer a complimentary consultation where you will have a face to face assessment with your doctor or nurse. Each consultation will explain how it works and what you can expect from treatment. We will then review your past medical history to ensure you are suitable and safe for the treatment.

Treatment day

Our experienced practitioners will answer any questions you have, and only when you are comfortable and ready, will your treatment start. The treatment area will be cleansed, and the product administered with a microfine needle. Some patients barely feel this, while some will feel a small sting of the needle that clears within seconds.

Aftercare and recovery

There may be small bumps where the product has been injected but these typically clear within minutes.  We advise no vigorous activity for 24 hours as in theory you could ‘sweat’ out the treatment, and no lying down for 4 hours post treatment. There is a chance of a small bruise and if this occurs then concealer can be used, and it should clear in 3-5 days.

Top-ups and future treatments

We welcome you back to the clinic for a complimentary top-up at the 2-week mark if you feel you have more movement than expected. We like to review our patients as it means we can get the dose perfect for future treatments.

Anti-wrinkle injections involve injecting botulinum toxin into targeted facial muscles to temporarily relax them. Anti-wrinkle injections tackle the signs of ageing by minimising the pull and tug on the skin, caused by overactive muscles. This helps your skin look smoother, refreshed, and tighter without altering your natural facial expressions.

What are the benefits of anti-wrinkle injections?

Less Invasive than surgery

With injections, there’s minimal disruption to surrounding tissues, no incisions, reduced risk of scarring, shorter recovery times, and fewer potential complications compared to surgical interventions like facelifts or brow lifts.

Softer, smoother skin

Anti-wrinkle injections promote softer, smoother skin by temporarily relaxing facial muscles responsible for wrinkles. This relaxation reduces the appearance of lines and creases, resulting in a more even and youthful complexion.

Lasting results

Anti-wrinkle injections soften facial expressions, and preserve your natural expressions. The treatment creates a rejuvenated look that gently eases over time.

Anti-ageing with natural results

Anti-wrinkle injections preserve facial expressions while reducing signs of ageing, offering a rejuvenated appearance without altering one’s natural features.

No downtime

Anti-wrinkle injections offer a no-downtime solution as they involve a quick and simple procedure. Following the injection, individuals can resume their daily activities immediately, without the need for recovery or downtime.

Boosted Confidence

With a refreshed and rejuvenated look, individuals often experience improved self-esteem and body image. This boost in confidence empowers them to feel more comfortable and self-assured in social and professional settings.

Anti-wrinkle injections combat ageing by targeting specific facial muscles responsible for wrinkles and fine lines. By temporarily paralysing these muscles, this treatment effectively diminishes the visible signs of ageing, such as crow’s feet, forehead lines, and frown lines, without altering natural facial expressions.

Anti-wrinkle injections can also act preventatively against ageing by targeting dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movements. By paralysing these muscles, the injections help prevent the formation of deeper lines over time. This proactive approach not only diminishes existing wrinkles but also slows down the development of new ones. When used preventatively, these injections can effectively maintain a youthful appearance and prolong the need for more invasive treatments in the future.

Anti-wrinkle faqs

Anti-wrinkle injections are generally safe when performed by a qualified medical professional, potential side effects may include temporary bruising, swelling, or drooping of nearby muscles. It’s important to consult with a licensed and regulated medical practitioner to discuss individual risks and expectations before undergoing treatment.

Whether anti-wrinkle injections are worth it depends on individual preferences, goals, and considerations. For many people anti-wrinkle injections can offer effective results with minimal downtime and relatively low risk. They can provide a rejuvenated appearance and boost confidence – and this can be priceless!

Anti-wrinkle injections wear off after 3-6 months and are broken down by the body naturally. Following this, repeat injections are necessary to maintain the desired results. It is always important to choose your practitioner wisely, as the prescribed product, and practitioner skill (in regard to placement and dosage) will always have an impact on the longevity of results.

Anti-wrinkle injections can be almost painless if carried out delicately by an experienced practitioner. We use micro-fine needles which makes it a comfortable procedure. We are different to a lot of clinics that use the old insulin needles, which are larger and can cause more pain and bruising. As we want to ensure our patients feel little to no discomfort, only use the best needles available – at no extra cost to you.
We can also offer numbing cream for more nervous patients.

There have been no clinical trials testing the safety around anti-wrinkle injections during pregnancy. Therefore, we have no information about this. We always recommend patients have treatments after their pregnancy, and when they have finished breastfeeding.

When administered by a skilled and experienced healthcare provider, anti-wrinkle injections will produce natural-looking results. The key lies in proper dosing and precise placement of the injections to target specific muscles responsible for wrinkles and lines while preserving natural facial expressions.

Results may begin to show in the days following treatment, however it takes 2 weeks to see the full effect.

The best age to have anti-wrinkle injections varies among individuals and depends on personal preferences, sun exposure, lifestyle and skin condition. While there is no specific age requirement, many individuals start considering anti-wrinkle injections in their late 20s to early 30s as a preventive measure or to address early signs of ageing. Others may opt for injections later in life when wrinkles become more noticeable or bothersome. Consulting with a medical professional will help determine the most suitable timing and approach for achieving desired aesthetic outcomes.
